2.3.29 Reimbursement of medical expenses
1. A member is eligible for the reimbursement of the cost they incur for medical, psychological and dental services if all of the following apply.
a. The medical, psychological and dental services were unable to be provided before the member ceased continuous full-time service.
b. The CDF or decision maker is satisfied that there are exceptional circumstances to provide the benefit after the member has ceased continuous full-time service having regard to the following.
i. The personal circumstances of the member and their family.
ii. The reason the member has ceased continuous full-time service.
iii. The member's medical, psychological and dental requirements.
iv. The degree to which any of the factors in subparagraphs i. to iii. are beyond the member's control.
v. Whether the medical, psychological and dental services can be funded by another means.
vi. Any other relevant factors.
2. Despite subsection 1, reimbursement of costs cannot be provided for medical, psychological and dental services received more than 4 months after the member ceased continuous full-time service.
