15 Amending or revoking a declaration of a declared World Heritage property

Revoking declarations specifying nominated property

(1)

The Minister must, by notice in the Gazette, revoke a declaration made under section 14 specifying a property that has been submitted to the World Heritage Committee for inclusion in the World Heritage List if the Commonwealth decides to withdraw the submission of the property for inclusion in the List.

Amending declarations specifying nominated property

(2)

The Minister must, by notice in the Gazette, amend a declaration made under section 14 specifying a property that has been submitted to the World Heritage Committee for inclusion in the World Heritage List so as to remove from the specification any part of the property that the Commonwealth decides to withdraw from the submission.

Revoking declarations specifying property not yet nominated

(3)

The Minister must, by notice in the Gazette, revoke a declaration made under section 14 specifying a property that is not submitted to the World Heritage Committee for inclusion in the World Heritage List if:

(a)

the Minister is satisfied that the property does not have world heritage values; or

(b)

the Commonwealth decides not to submit the property to the Committee for inclusion in the List; or

(c)

the Minister is satisfied that none of the world heritage values of the property are under threat.
