5 Detention officer etc. not liable to certain actions
(1)
A detention officer, or a person assisting a detention officer in the exercise of powers under this Act or the regulations, is not liable to an action, suit or proceeding for or in respect of anything done in good faith or omitted to be done in good faith in the exercise or purported exercise of any power conferred by this Act or the regulations.
Note:
Section 90 makes similar provision for officers and their assistants.
(2)
However, subsection (1) does not affect a contractual liability of a detention officer or person assisting a detention officer.
