56 Abandonment of proposals
The Authority may abandon a proposal at any time before:
if the proposal results, or would result, in the development or variation of a standard—the draft standard or draft variation is approved; or
if the proposal results, or would result, in the development or variation of a code of practice—the draft code of practice or draft variation is approved.
However, if the Authority abandons a proposal after public notice has been given under section 58 or 75, the Authority must give public notice of the matters mentioned in subsection (3).
The notice must:
state that the Authority has decided to abandon the proposal; and
state how to obtain further information about the decision and the reasons for it.
