21 Period for making a decision on a permit application—extension on CEO’s initiative
(1)
The CEO may extend the decision period for an application for a special import permit (other than a pre‑consented recovery facility special import permit) by up to 60 days if the CEO thinks that a decision whether to grant the permit cannot be made within the decision period.
(2)
The CEO must give written notice of any extension under subregulation (1) to each of the following as soon as practicable:
(a)
the applicant;
(b)
the competent authority of the exporting country for the permit.
