15A Collection, use and disclosure—research

An entity may collect, use or disclose the healthcare identifier of a healthcare recipient if:

(a)

the collection, use or disclosure is for the purpose of assisting the entity to conduct research that has been approved by a Human Research Ethics Committee or is authorised by another Australian law; and

(b)

the healthcare recipient has consented to the collection, use or disclosure.
