138 Notice of signatures
Notice shall be taken of the signature, on an instrument relating to land or an interest in land:
of the Attorney‑General or of a delegate of the Attorney‑General, if the signature purports to be witnessed by an officer of the Attorney‑General’s Department; or
of the Minister or of a delegate of the Minister, if the signature purports to be witnessed by an officer of the Minister’s Department.
The Registrar‑General, Registrar of Titles or other appropriate officer of the State or Territory in which the land referred to in the instrument is situated may register such an instrument so signed and attested without further proof of the signature of the Attorney‑General, Minister, delegate or witness, and notwithstanding that the signature is not attested in accordance with the law of the State or Territory.
