255 Identity cards
AMSA must issue an identity card to an inspector.
The identity card must:
be in the approved form; and
contain a recent photograph of the inspector; and
state the powers that the inspector may exercise.
A person contravenes this subsection if:
the person has been issued with an identity card; and
the person ceases to be an inspector; and
the person does not, as soon as practicable after so ceasing, return the identity card to AMSA.
Subsection (3) does not apply if the identity card was lost or destroyed.
Strict liability offence
A person commits an offence of strict liability if the person contravenes subsection (3).

A defendant bears an evidential burden in relation to the matter in subsection (4) (see subsection 13.3(3) of the Criminal Code).
Penalty: 1 penalty unit.
Identity card to be carried
An inspector must carry his or her identity card at all times when exercising powers and performing functions and duties as an inspector.
