39 Failing to produce seafarer certificate
(1)
The holder of a seafarer certificate must ensure that the certificate is made available at all reasonable times for examination on request by any of the following:
(a)
AMSA;
(b)
an inspector;
(c)
an officer of Customs.
Fault‑based offence
(2)
A person commits an offence if the person contravenes subsection (1).
Penalty: Imprisonment for 12 months or 60 penalty units, or both.
Civil penalty
(3)
A person is liable to a civil penalty if the person contravenes subsection (1).
Civil penalty: 600 penalty units.
