49 Appointment of inspectors
The CEO may, by instrument in writing, appoint as an inspector a person who is:
an officer or employee of an authority of the Commonwealth; or
a person engaged under the Public Service Act 1999; or
an officer or employee of the Public Service of a State or Territory; or
a member of the Police Force of a State or Territory.
The CEO must not appoint an officer or employee of the Public Service of a State or Territory, or a member of the Police Force of a State or Territory, as an inspector unless the appointment is in accordance with an arrangement made by the CEO with a Minister of that State or Territory.
The CEO must not appoint a person as an inspector unless the CEO is satisfied that the person has suitable qualifications and experience to properly exercise the powers of an inspector.
