484C Definition of sender identification
A sender identification is one or more of the things covered by subsection (2) that is a message header that is, or is to be, used in a communication that is, or is to be, sent using any of the following services:
a short message service;
a multimedia message service;
if another service is specified in an instrument under subsection (4)—that other service.
This subsection covers the following things:
letters;
numbers;
symbols;
if another thing is specified in an instrument under subsection (5)—that other thing.
Despite subsection (1), a message header is not a sender identification if the message header consists only of numbers.
The Minister may, by legislative instrument, specify a service for the purposes of paragraph (1)(c).
The Minister may, by legislative instrument, specify a thing for the purposes of paragraph (2)(d).
