519 Protection from civil actions
Civil proceedings do not lie against a person in respect of loss, damage or injury of any kind suffered by another person because of any of the following acts done in good faith:
the making of a complaint under section 509;
the making of a statement to, or the giving of a document or information to, the ACMA in connection with an investigation under section 510;
the making of a complaint to the Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman;
subject to subsection (2), the making of a statement to, or the giving of a document or information to, the Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman in connection with the consideration by the Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman of a complaint.
Paragraph (1)(d) does not apply to the making of a statement, or the giving of a document or information, by:
a carrier; or
a person who is a service provider and who is participating in the Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman scheme under which the Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman has been appointed.
