41 Court procedure
(1)
The Local Court determining an application, and the Supreme Court hearing an appeal, under this Part are not bound to observe the rules of law governing the admission of evidence but may inform themselves of any matter in such manner as they see fit.
(2)
The civil standard of proof applies in any such proceeding.
