Renewal of licence
13 Renewal of licence
An application for the renewal of a licence may be made to the Secretary by the holder of the licence.
If an application for the renewal of a licence is received by the Secretary no later than 28 days before the date on which the licence is due to expire, the licence is taken to continue in force until the application is determined by the Secretary.
Subject to the regulations, an application for the renewal of a licence is to be dealt with as if it were an initial application for a licence. Accordingly, sections 7–9 apply in relation to an application under this section.
The Secretary is to determine an application for the renewal of a licence—
by granting the application and issuing a licence to the applicant, or
by refusing the application.
The Secretary is to give the applicant notice in writing of the determination of the application.
