Security Industry Act 1997

An enforcement officer may enter any premises at which a security activity (or an activity ancillary to the carrying on of a security activity) is being carried on, or at which the enforcement officer reasonably believes such an activity is being carried on, at any reasonable time for the following purposes—

for determining whether there has been compliance with, or a contravention of, this Act or the regulations,

generally for administering this Act.

This section does not confer a power to enter any premises or part of premises that is used only for residential purposes without the permission of the occupier or the authority of a search warrant.
