Transport Administration Act 1988

The Minister may, from time to time, appoint a person to be the alternate of the director appointed by the Minister, and may revoke any such appointment.

The Transport Secretary may, from time to time, appoint a person to be the alternate of the director appointed by the Transport Secretary, and may revoke any such appointment.

In the absence of a director, the director’s alternate may, if available, act in the place of the director.

While acting in the place of a director, an alternate has all the functions of the director and is taken to be a director.

For the purposes of this clause, a vacancy in the office of a director is taken to be an absence of the director.

This clause does not operate to confer on the alternate of a director who is the Chairperson the director’s functions as Chairperson.
