17 Term of office of members
(1)
A member holds office for:
(a)
4 years; or
(b)
if a shorter period is specified in the instrument of appointment of the member – the shorter period.
(2)
A person may be re-appointed as a member.
(3)
Despite subsection (1), unless a member sooner vacates his or her office or is removed from office under section 20, on the expiration of the term of office of the member, the member continues to hold office until a successor is appointed.
