Cross-border protocols
547 Cross-border protocols
The Law Society may enter into arrangements (cross-border
protocols) with corresponding authorities for or in relation to investigating and dealing with conduct that appears to have occurred in more than one jurisdiction.
In particular, a cross-border protocol may provide for any of the following:

giving and receiving consent for conduct occurring in a jurisdiction to be dealt with under a law of another jurisdiction;
the procedures to be adopted for requesting and conducting the investigation of any aspect of complaints under this Part.
A cross-border protocol does not have effect in this jurisdiction unless it is embodied or identified in the regulations.
