The Environment Minister will determine the appropriate security or securities when the Environment Minister decides to approve an environment management plan.
An interest holder must not commence activities under an approved environment management plan without providing security in accordance with a determination of the Environment Minister under subsection (1).
The Environment Minister may allow an interest holder to provide an amount of security less than would otherwise apply if satisfied that the level of activity or stage in the performance of work does not require the full security.
The Environment Minister may act under subsection (3) on the condition that the amount of the security will be increased at a later time or times.
