Multiple preventative detention orders
21N Multiple preventative detention orders
More than one preventative detention order may be made in relation to the same terrorist act (whether or not against the same person).
A preventative detention order can be made against a person to take effect on the expiration of detention under another preventative detention order made against the person or an order for the person's detention made under a corresponding law.
Note for section 21N
This Division does not authorise the extension of the period of an order. However, an eligible Judge may make further orders for the same terrorist act as long as the maximum period of detention under section 21K is not exceeded in relation to the total period of the orders.
