Coroners Act 2003

This section applies if an entity, including a government entity, maintains a database about coronial investigations.

The Minister may, for the State, enter into an arrangement with the entity for stated information obtained under this Act to be included in the database.

The Minister may enter into the arrangement only if satisfied—

the entity has a legitimate interest in storing the information in the database; and

the entity will make the information available only to persons with a legitimate interest in obtaining it; and

the conditions for making the information available to database users are reasonable.

This section does not affect, and is not affected by, section 53.
