Electoral Act 1992

The agent of a third party may ask the commission, in writing, to cancel the third party’s registration for an election.

The commission must cancel the third party’s registration for the election if the commission is satisfied that the obligations that apply to the third party for the election under this part have ended.

If the commission cancels the registration, the commission must—

record the cancellation and the day of the cancellation in the register; and

give the third party notice about the cancellation.

The cancellation takes effect on—

the day the third party receives the notice; or

a later day stated in the notice.

If the commission refuses to cancel the registration, the commission must give the third party a notice that states the commission’s decision and reasons for the decision.
