67 Power to require name and address
This section applies if an enforcement officer—
finds a person committing a relevant offence; or
finds a person in circumstances that lead the officer to reasonably suspect the person has just committed a relevant offence; or
has information that leads the enforcement officer to reasonably suspect a person has just committed a relevant offence.
The enforcement officer may require the person to state the person’s name and residential address.
The enforcement officer may also require the person to give evidence of the correctness of the stated name or address if, in the circumstances, it would be reasonable to expect the person to—
be in possession of evidence of the correctness of the stated name or address; or
otherwise be able to give the evidence.
When making a personal details requirement, the enforcement officer must give the person an offence warning for the requirement.
A requirement under this section is a personal details requirement.
In this section—
address means any of the following—
a residential address;
a business address;
another address in the State.
