Environmental Offsets Act 2014

An administering agency must keep a register about the following—

information in relation to each authority that has been issued with an offset condition, including, for example—

the administering agency’s reference number for the authority; and

information about the prescribed environmental matter relevant to the offset condition; and

a description of the location of the impact relevant to the offset condition; and

if the authority is for a prescribed activity to be undertaken in a legally secured offset area—a description of the area’s location and the reason the area is a legally secured offset area under section 29;

any other matter prescribed under a regulation.

An administering agency must make the register available for inspection in the way the agency reasonably considers appropriate, including, for example, in electronic form.

An administering agency must, if requested by the chief executive and without charge, give information held on the register to the chief executive.
