274 Directions to carry out rehabilitation may be given if surrender refused
This section applies if the administering authority decides to refuse a surrender application for an environmental authority for a resource activity.
The administering authority may give the applicant a written direction (the surrender rehabilitation direction) to carry out further stated rehabilitation within a stated reasonable period.
The direction must be given to the applicant with the notice of the refusal of the application required under section 275(b).
The notice of refusal must also include an information notice about the decision to give the direction.
In this section—
rehabilitation includes environmental management.
