Approved collectors associations
176 Approved collectors associations
An association may apply to the chief inspector for approval of the association as an approved collectors association.
The chief inspector may approve the association if reasonably satisfied the association—
keeps a record of the name and address of each member of the association; and
sends written correspondence to all its members at least once each year; and
will, with the consent of the association’s members, make the names and addresses of its members available to the chief inspector on request.
The chief inspector must, as soon as practicable after deciding whether to approve the association, give the association—
if the chief inspector decides to approve the association—notice of the decision and the reasons for the decision; or
if the chief inspector decides not to approve the association—an information notice for the decision.
