Requirements for handling explosives at port

In force

(1)

The port authority or port operator responsible for a port must ensure—

(a)

explosives are not handled at the port unless there are approved explosives limits for the port; and

(b)

explosives are handled at the port as required under—

(i)

the port’s approved explosives limits; and

(ii)

AS 3846 or alternative safety and security measures for the standard.

Maximum penalty—100 penalty units.

(2)

In this section—

AS 3846 means AS 3846—2005 (The handling and transport of dangerous cargoes in port areas).
