7K Appointment
(1)
The commissioner is to appoint a deputy commissioner.
(2)
A person is eligible for appointment as deputy commissioner if the person has—
(a)
professional firefighting experience; and
(b)
incident control expertise; and
(c)
fire prevention expertise.
(3)
The commissioner must have regard to the matters mentioned in section 25B when appointing a person as the deputy commissioner.
(4)
The deputy commissioner is to be employed under this Act and not the Public Sector Act 2022.
