258 Dealing with forfeited thing
On the forfeiture of a thing to the State or a local government under section 257, the thing becomes the State’s or local government’s property and may be dealt with by the chief executive or chief executive officer of the local government as the chief executive or chief executive officer considers appropriate.
Without limiting subsection (1), the chief executive or chief executive officer may destroy or dispose of the thing.
However, the chief executive or chief executive officer must not deal with the thing in a way that could prejudice the outcome of a review under this Act of which the chief executive or chief executive officer is aware.
