268 Regulator’s powers
The regulator may—
give instructions about procedures to be followed by the parties to the dispute to attempt to resolve it before the regulator mediates it; or
engage someone else, other than a court, to help mediate the dispute; or
decide not to mediate the dispute and refer it to the Governor in Council to decide.
Also, the regulator may, by notice, require the distributor, LPG distributor or public entity (the party) to give the regulator stated information the regulator reasonably requires to mediate the dispute.
The notice must be accompanied by, or include, an information notice about the decision to make the requirement.
The information must be given within a reasonable period after the regulator gives the notice, unless the party has a reasonable excuse.Maximum penalty—500 penalty units.
It is a reasonable excuse not to give the information if giving it might tend to incriminate the party.
