The Minister may—
approve a leave of absence for a member; and

If the member is a member nominated by the Minister mentioned in section 14(1)(c), the Minister may only appoint a person chosen by the board.
This section does not limit the Governor in Council’s powers under the Acts Interpretation Act 1954, section 25(1)(b)(v).
If the Minister approves a leave of absence for the deputy chairperson, the board may appoint another member to be the deputy chairperson during the leave of absence.
