The chief executive may make the appointment only if the chief executive is satisfied the proposed appointee is suitable for the appointment under this section.

In deciding whether a person is suitable for the appointment, the chief executive must have regard to the following matters—

the nature of the ancillary housing service provided by the funded ancillary provider;

the reason for the appointment;

the person’s expertise or experience relevant to the appointment;

any conflict of interest that may arise in the course of the person acting as interim manager;

any other relevant matter of which the chief executive is aware.

A person who has agreed to a proposed appointment must advise the chief executive, before the appointment is made, whether the person is aware of a conflict of interest that may arise in the course of the person acting as interim manager.Maximum penalty—20 penalty units.

Only an adult may be appointed as interim manager.
