712 Certificate evidence for division
For an application under this division, a certificate stating the following about a person and purporting to be by an appropriate officer of a court of the State or another jurisdiction is evidence the person was—
convicted by the court of a stated offence on a stated day;
acquitted by the court of a stated offence, or that a stated charge against the person was dismissed by the court, on a stated day.
A certificate purporting to be by a person in charge of a prison is evidence that a stated person was released from the prison on a stated day.
In this section—
appropriate officer, of a court, means a registrar or other officer with registration functions for the court.
