22 Preparing reports for Speaker
The inspector must prepare the following reports for the Speaker—
a report about each review of a detention service that is carried out;
a report about each mandatory inspection of a place of detention that is carried out.
The inspector may prepare a report for the Speaker about—
an inspection, other than a mandatory inspection, that is carried out; or
the performance of another function as the inspector considers appropriate.
A report prepared under subsection (1) or (2)—
may address—
a review of 1 or more detention services relating to 1 or more places of detention; and
a review of a matter relating to 1 or more detention services or places of detention; and
must include any recommendations of the inspector relating to—
taking action to promote the improvement of detention services and places of detention; or
changing a law of the State, or administrative actions relevant to detention services or places of detention; or
changing infrastructure at particular places of detention.
In this section—
mandatory inspection means an inspection mentioned in section 8(1)(c)(i), (ii) or (iii).
