51 Duration of appointment

(1)

A member of the board must be appointed for a term of not longer than 3 years decided by the Governor in Council.

(2)

A member’s office becomes vacant if the member—

(a)

resigns by signed notice of resignation given to the Minister; or

(b)

is absent from 3 consecutive board meetings without the board’s leave and without reasonable excuse; or

(c)

becomes incapable of performing the duties of a member because of physical or mental incapacity; or

(d)

is an undischarged bankrupt or is taking advantage of the laws in force relating to bankrupt debtors; or

(e)

is convicted of an indictable offence; or

(f)

is prohibited from being a director of a body corporate by the Corporations Act for a reason other than the person’s age; or

(g)

is removed from office by the Governor in Council under subsection (3).

(3)

The Governor in Council may remove a member from office for any reason or none.
