884 Existing authority to carry out remediation activities or rehabilitation activities
(1)
This section applies if, immediately before the commencement, a person was authorised by the chief executive—
(a)
under section 344A(1) to carry out remediation activities at land on which an abandoned mine exists; or
(b)
under section 344A(3) to carry out rehabilitation activities at land on which a final rehabilitation site exists.
(2)
An authorisation mentioned in subsection (1)(a) is taken to have been made under section 344C as in force on the commencement.
(3)
An authorisation mentioned in subsection (1)(b) is taken to have been made under section 344D as in force on the commencement.
