Applications for renewal
257C Applications for renewal
The holder of a prescribed renewable licence may apply for the licence to be automatically renewed, by the operation of the authority management system, as a renewable licence of—
the same type as the existing licence; or
a different type to the existing licence.
The application must—
be made using the authority management system; and
state the applicant particulars; and
be made during the period—
starting 40 business days before the existing licence ends; and
ending on the day the existing licence ends; and
be accompanied by the prescribed fee for the application.
The existing licence is taken to continue in effect from the day the licence would otherwise have ended until—
if the application is withdrawn—the day the application is withdrawn; or
if the licence is automatically renewed—the day the applicant receives the renewed licence; or
if the licence cannot be automatically renewed—the day the notice mentioned in section 257F(2) is given to the holder.
Note—
See also section 260 if section 257F applies in relation to the application to renew the existing licence.
This section does not prevent the existing licence from being suspended or cancelled under this regulation.
