Second-hand Dealers and Pawnbrokers Act 2003

If a licensee applies for renewal of a licence under section 13, the licence is taken to be in force from the time it would, apart from this subsection, have expired until the day on which any of the following first happens—

the chief executive renews the licence;

if the chief executive decides to refuse to grant the renewal, the chief executive gives the licensee a QCAT information notice for the decision under section 15(4);

the licensee is taken to have withdrawn the application under section 18(2).

If the chief executive renews the licence, the licence is taken to have been renewed from the time it would, apart from subsection (1), have expired.

Subsection (1) does not apply if the licence is earlier cancelled or suspended.
