Surveyors Act 2003

This section applies to each of the following persons—

the board;

a member;

an employee of the board;

an investigator;

a person acting under the direction or authority of an investigator.

The person may conduct a search of the following without payment of a fee—

a register under the Land Act 1994, section 275 or the Land Title Act 1994, section 7;

a valuation roll under the Land Valuation Act 2010;

a State dataset under the Survey and Mapping Infrastructure Act 2003.

However, the search must be conducted—

for the purpose of administering this Act; and

in accordance with the practice of the entity that holds the register, valuation roll or State dataset.

In this section—

search, of a register, valuation roll or State dataset, includes obtaining information from the register, valuation roll or State dataset.
