Surveyors Act 2003

The Minister may give the board a written direction about a matter relevant to the performance of its functions under this Act if the Minister is satisfied it is necessary, in the public interest, to give the direction.

Without limiting subsection (1), the direction may be—

to give reports and information; or

to apply to the board a policy, standard or other instrument applying to a public sector unit.

The direction can not be about any of the following—

registering, or refusing to register, an applicant;

endorsing, or refusing to endorse, a registration certificate;

renewing, or refusing to renew, a registration or registration endorsement;

imposing conditions on, or removing disciplinary conditions of, a registration;

otherwise amending, or suspending or cancelling a registration.

Despite section 10, the board must comply with the direction.
