12 Relationship to functions under other particular laws

The commissioner must ensure that the commissioner’s functions are performed in a way that does not duplicate the performance of a function of an entity under this Act or any of the following Acts—

(a)

the Coroners Act 2003;

(b)

the Corrective Services Act 2006;

(c)

the Crime and Corruption Act 2001;

(d)

the Director of Public Prosecutions Act 1984;

(e)

the Family and Child Commission Act 2014;

(f)

the Guardianship and Administration Act 2000;

(g)

the Human Rights Act 2019;

(h)

the Inspector of Detention Services Act 2022;

(i)

the Mental Health Act 2016;

(j)

the Ombudsman Act 2001;

(k)

the Penalties and Sentences Act 1992;

(l)

the Police Service Administration Act 1990;

(m)

the Public Guardian Act 2014;

(n)

the Victims of Crime Assistance Act 2009. Example of ensuring functions are performed in a way mentioned in this section—

To avoid duplication, the commissioner may coordinate the conduct of a review under section 9(a) with a person performing a function under another Act mentioned in this section.
