71 Deputy chairperson
(1)
The Minister may appoint an appointed member mentioned in section 69(1)(c) to be the deputy chairperson.
(2)
The deputy chairperson is to act as chairperson—
(a)
during a vacancy in the office of the chairperson; and
(b)
during all periods when the chairperson is absent from duty or for another reason can not perform the duties of the office.
(3)
A vacancy arises in the office of deputy chairperson if the person holding the office—
(a)
resigns office by signed notice given to the Minister; or
(b)
ceases to be a member.
(4)
A person resigning the office of deputy chairperson may continue to be an appointed member.
