Weapons Act 1990

This section applies if an individual—

gives a firearm to a police officer under section 141W(3) or (4)(a); or

complies with a direction under section 141W(4)(b) or (c) in relation to a firearm.

The individual may, within 3 months after the day the firearm is given to or seized by a police officer, make arrangements with a police officer for a licensed dealer or licensed armourer to collect the firearm if the individual—

has consigned the firearm to the licensed dealer or licensed armourer for sale; and

has given the police officer a copy of the transaction notification for the consignment.
