226 Chief executive to decide application and issue authority or notice
(1)
The chief executive must approve or refuse an application in accordance with this subdivision.
(2)
If the chief executive approves an application, the chief executive must issue to the person—
(a)
if the person made a working with children check (general) application—a working with children clearance; or
(b)
if the person made a working with children check (exemption) application—a working with children exemption.
(3)
If the chief executive refuses an application, the chief executive must issue a negative notice to the person.
(4)
The working with children authority or negative notice must be issued in writing.
