328 Effect of person ceasing to be registered teacher
This section applies to a person who is a registered teacher employed in regulated employment if the person surrenders the person’s registration under the Education (Queensland College of Teachers) Act 2005, section 59.
The person must immediately notify the person’s employer in relation to the regulated employment of the surrender.Maximum penalty—10 penalty units.
Note—See chapter 7, part 4, division 2 for offences about the employment of a person who is not a police officer or registered teacher in regulated employment.
To remove any doubt, it is declared that—
it is not a requirement of subsection (2) that the person give the person’s employer any information about the surrender other than that it has happened; and
unless otherwise required under this chapter, it is not a requirement that the employer stop employing the person on receiving the notification.
