22 Powers of acquisition
Where the Board is satisfied that it is necessary or expedient to acquire any part of the coast—
for the purpose of executing works authorised by this Act;
or
for any other purpose consistent with the functions and duties assigned to, or imposed upon, the Board under this Act, the Board may, with the approval of the Minister, acquire any land constituting or forming part of, that part of the coast.
The Land Acquisition Act 1969 shall apply in respect of the acquisition of land under subsection (1) of this section.
The Board may, with the approval of the Minister—
sell, lease or otherwise dispose of land acquired under this section; or
by agreement with the council for the area in which the land is situated, place the land under the care, control and management of that council.
