28 Composition of Authority
The
Authority consists of 5 members appointed by the Governor on the nomination of the Minister of whom—
1 will be an officer of the Department who has responsibility in relation to the administration of pharmacy services; and
1 will be selected from a panel of 3 pharmacists nominated by The
Pharmacy Guild of Australia (SA Branch); and
1 will be selected from a panel of 3 pharmacists nominated by the
Pharmaceutical Society of Australia (South Australian Branch)
Incorporated; and
1 will be selected from a panel of 3 pharmacists involved in the operation of pharmacies in South Australia, nominated by the
Australian Friendly Societies Pharmacies Association; and
1 will be a person who, in the opinion of the Minister, is qualified by reason of their expertise and experience to represent the interests of the public.
At least 1 of the members of the Authority must be a woman and 1 must be a man.
The
Governor may appoint a person to be a deputy of a member and a person so appointed may act as a member of the Authority in the absence of the member.
The requirements of qualification and nomination (if applicable) made by this section in relation to the appointment of a member extend to the appointment of the deputy of that member.
