16 Certificate of election
After all the votes are counted, the Electoral Commissioner is to– declare the names of the persons who are elected at an election; and issue a certificate of the result of the election.
The Electoral Commissioner is to cause a copy of the certificate of election to be published in the Gazette and in 3 daily newspapers published and circulating in the State.
An eligible elector for an electoral area or the Electoral Commissioner may dispute the result of an election by lodging an application with the Supreme Court within 30 days of the date on which the certificate of election is published in the Gazette under subsection (2).
A person may not dispute the result of an election of members of the Council on the grounds that a person is or is not entitled to vote at the election.
