9 Use of electric prodders prohibited
In this regulation – electric prodder means a handheld device used to deliver an electric shock.
A person must not – use an electric prodder on a pig; or cause or allow another person to use an electric prodder on a pig – except in accordance with the Animal Welfare (Transport of Livestock) Regulations (No. 2) 2023. In the case of – a body corporate, a fine not exceeding 100 penalty units; or a natural person, a fine not exceeding 50 penalty units.
