54 Opinion of medical practitioner to whom medical question referred
A medical practitioner to whom a medical question is referred by a medical panel or the Commissioner may provide to the medical panel or the Commissioner, respectively, the practitioner's opinion in relation to the medical question.
If the Commissioner receives, from a medical practitioner to whom the Commissioner referred a medical question, the opinion of the practitioner in relation to the question, the Commissioner may refer the question to a medical panel under section 47(3).
A medical panel may, in making a determination under this Act, have regard to the opinion of a medical practitioner who is not a member of the panel.
